CO129 Colonial Office Hong Kong Records 理藩院香港檔案 All

Dear Sir Edward,

Downing Street,

281

January, 1926.

I am sorry to have to trouble you again with

the draft Notes of the Piracy Conference. I have,

however, received the accompanying letter from Leak, who

represented the Board of Trade.

I personally do not remember your saying that

in one of the piracies the Master was shot by the boatswain and I have not been able to find a despatch reporting it.

I presume that the case in question was the "Tai Lee" (see

paragraph 5 of your despatch No. 203 of the 5th of May,

1924 copy herewith). I return the draft Notes in case

you wish to add anything to what you said in order to meet

Leak's point.

The only other alterations which have been

suggested are those which I have made in the first

paragraph of the Noted at the request of the adunty representatives)

Yours sincerely,

SIR R.E. STUBBS, K.C.M.G.
